במפגש תרצה ליאורה מנליס-ברעם

בנושא:  זיהוי הבעות פנים, תנועות ראש ותנועות סטריאוטיפיות מתוך וידאו והקשר שלהם לאבחנה והתנהגות בילדים עם אוטיזם

 

ליאורה היא דוקטורנטית לפסיכולוגיה התפתחותית במעבדה של פרופ' אילן דינשטיין, במחקריה היא משתמשת בכלי ראייה ממוחשבת לניתוח וידאו כדי לזהות הבעות פנים, תנועות ראש ותנועות סטריאוטיפיות בילדים עם אוטיזם.

עבודתה שואפת להבין כיצד דפוסים אלה קשורים לאבחנה והתנהגות, וכיצד ניתן להפוך אותם למדדים אובייקטיבים שיתרמו לאבחון ולהתערבות.

Sensory processing and perception in mouse models of ASD

המרצה:

Dr. Jennifer Resnik

 

Dr. Jennifer Resnik is a neuroscientist and senior lecturer in the Department of Life Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Dr. Resnik earned her B.Sc. in Life and Medical Sciences from Tel Aviv University, followed by a Master's and Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where she explored stimulus generalization in aversive learning contexts, including models of PTSD. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in the Polley Lab, focusing on plasticity and compensatory mechanisms in the adult auditory system. Since establishing her lab at Ben-Gurion University in 2020, she has been studying the neural mechanisms underlying auditory perception and how these processes are influenced by factors such as state, context, and neurological disorders. Her research focuses on how the brain adapts to sensory experiences in ways that can either enhance or disrupt perception, with important implications for mental health and sensory disorders.
